Faculty of Engineering in Kragujevac belongs to the group of the most prominent scientific and educational institutions in the field of technical sciences. Today, it is a modern institution that has precisely defined mission, vision and goals.

Mission of the Faculty

Education at the Faculty of Engineering includes a whole spectrum of development of modern and contemporary technology, in accordance with the European trends, ideally placed for practical profession, but also as a basis for efficient creative work.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac was formed at the initiative of the former Kragujevac district and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade, by the regulation of the Executive Council of the Assembly of People's Republic of Serbia, No. 522 from October 1st, 1960, as a department of the faculty of mechanical Engineering from Belgrade. The Department of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering started to work on October 9th, 1960, at the facilities of the First Gymnasium in Kragujevac. The first lectures in mathematics were held by prof. Bozidar Djerasimovic, Ph.D., on October 10th, 1960. The first head (dean) of the Department of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was prof. Branislav Ilic, M.Sc.

Mission of the Faculty

Mission of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering from Kragujevac, as an educational-scientific institution, is that, with maximal and continuous innovation of teaching materials, with application of modern methods and techniques of education and through research process, educate young and quality experts in the field of mechanical engineering, able to be leaders in development of the region and wider.

The  buildings complex of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering  consists of 4 buildings (A, B, C and D).

Building A includes: Dean's office and vice-deans' offices, the Laboratory for metal processing and tribology; Divisions for engineering software, metal forming, Centers for terotechnology, tribology, computer integrated business, quality, revitalization of industrial systems, integrated development of products and processes and intelligent systems, information technologies, Innovations centre for information technologies, the Library, Small amphitheatre, design bureaus and cabinets, computer classrooms, University information center, Internet café for students

Building B includes:  Laboratory for motor vehicles, Laboratory for IC engines, fuels and lubricants, Laboratory for energy and process engineering, Centers for technical proper function of vehicles, traffic safety, Regional Euro-Center for Energy Efficiency, Conference hall, Design bureaus and cabinets...

Building C includes: Divisions for machine materials and welding, composite materials, Laboratory for mechanical construction and mechanization, CAD laboratory (CAD/LAB), Laboratory of automation, hydraulics, electrical engineering and robotics, Centers for mechanical transmissions, testing and calculation of machine elements and machine systems, rational energy management, heating, air conditioning and solar energy, applied automation, Design bureaus and cabinets...

Building D includes: classrooms - auditoriums, cabinets, Large amphitheater having 250 seats, Center for recycling of used PC equipment, administrative offices, student rooms...
